Just in time for the fall football season, the California-based apparel label is launching its official collection in partnership with the NFL.
Aviator Nation is expanding its portfolio of sports merchandise with the launch of its official partnership with the National Football League. Launching Thursday, the California-based apparel label’s collection features hoodies, crewnecks, T-shirts, sweatpants and more featuring new takes on 25 NFL teams’ branding, with prices starting at $89.
“I think our first sports collection was when we were invited to make a collection for the NBA All-Star Game, and from there it was one request after another, all completely organic,” Paige Mycoskie, founder and chief executive officer of Aviator Nation, told WWD of the brand’s expansion into sports with licensed collections.
This strategic category includes collaborations across the College Football Playoff, NCAA Final Four, the Kentucky Derby, a partnership with Major League Baseball and now the NFL.
“We were invited to do a collection for the Super Bowl last year and I think that is what got us thinking about the NFL in a bigger way. The NFL is great because it is an opportunity to celebrate several new communities, some of which we have a presence in and some will be brand new and a complete experiment,” Mycoskie said of the expanded collection.
“It seems like every time we launch a new team, college or a new sport we have a ton of requests to do another one. Even today, we are choosing teams and colleges based on what our fans want,” she said of the collection, which spans 25 teams including the Philadelphia Eagles, the New York Giants, the New England Patriots and more.
