The winter-ready recovery boot is out now in Black/Black and Tatsu/Black styles.
Of all the brands that have crossed over from technical outwear to everyday lifestyle apparel, Arc’teryx has perhaps benefited most from the gorpcore trend. The Canadian company’s waterproof shells have gone from mountain wear to mainstream staples, but the brand’s apparel isn’t the only thing it has going for it.
The outdoor purveyor’s footwear has long been a favorite of outdoor connoisseurs and now, after ending its decade-long footwear manufacturing partnership with fellow Amer Sports owned-and-operated brand Salomon in 2024, Arc’teryx is producing its own independent shoes. Since its spring 2024 debut, Arc’teryx’s Portland Creation Centre has already created a number of notable models for the brand’s in-house footwear lineup, but few have garnered social media attention the way the just-released Postour Boot has.
Designed for recovery on the ski slopes, the Arc’teryx Postour Boot is a highly equipped waterproof boot that’s enhanced not only with leading third-party tech such as a Gore-Tex Invisible Fit liner and a Vibram Arctic Grip outsole, but also uses some of Arc’teryx’s own developments including a rugged Endure 360 rubber wrap around the entire shoe. Up top, a chalk bag-inspired cinch system can be closed tightly to prevent snow and moisture from getting inside.
And yet, despite all of these technical advancements, one of the biggest highlights of the Postour Boot is one that can’t be seen from the outside, as the two-in-one design includes a removable slipper with 250 gsm of Coreloft insulation, a merino wool liner and a Grotto Grip outsole for grip indoors.
