Allegro opens to consumers in Ukraine

Polish online marketplace Allegro is opening up its platform to consumers in Ukraine. It is not launching a local marketplace in the country. Instead, products can be ordered and shipped through the Polish website.

This was announced by the online marketplace in a post in its Help Center last week. Allegro is the biggest ecommerce player in Poland. In the first half of this year, the Allegro Group GMV increased by almost 14 percent compared to the same period last year. In that same period, the company’s international GMV increased by almost 65 percent.

Allegro already has localized marketplaces in Czechia, Slovakia and Hungary. Earlier this year, it sold its operations in Slovenia and Croatia. This was done because the company wanted to streamline its financial results. But now, the Polish marketplace is expanding its market.
