50 Cent’s Sold-out G-Unit Reebok Sneakers Are Coming Back Soon in New Colors

Reebok‘s revival of the original G-Unit sneaker was a roaring success, as the G6 totally sold out in less than two hours. For those who missed out on the first wave of the 2000s revival, another colorway is on the way.

The G-Unit x Reebok G6 will return in December in a white and green treatment. Neutral tones are just as prevalent as the August release, as a white leather upper matches the midsole and hosts a suede toe tip and leather mustache in gray. Pops of green then come via striping at the ends of the toe tip, translucent outsole, lining and brand marks that include a special lace dubrae and, of course, the “G-Unit” embroidery at the lateral heel.

2003 brought the introduction of both G-Unit and Jay-Z’s first sneakers, both with Reebok, proving that rappers and not just athletes could sell sneakers. Ever one for competition, 50 Cent has said in the past that his sneakers outsold his counterpart’s on a 6-1 margin and generated $80 million for him alone over the course of his original Reebok deal.

Speaking to Footwear News more recently, just after the G6 relaunch, the music mogul said: “The fans never really let it go. People have been asking for this shoe to come back for years. Reebok is having a moment again, G-Unit is still part of the culture, and the timing just made sense. You’ve got the people who had them the first time, and now you’ve got a whole new generation discovering them.
