Xpansiv, a provider of infrastructure for energy and environmental commodity markets, has entered a strategic partnership with European growth investor Verdane, which is leading a major capital raise for the company.
The investment will support Xpansiv’s plans to pursue acquisitions and broaden its products, asset classes and geographic reach, the companies said Tuesday. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.
Xpansiv operates registries, marketplaces and data services connecting corporations, utilities and traders with clean-power products, renewable-energy certificates, carbon credits and clean-fuel credits. Its technology processes transfers involving hundreds of millions of assets each year.
The company said its AI-enabled tools are being used to speed verification, strengthen auditability and reduce administrative work across the markets it serves.
The new investment builds on a series of acquisitions by Xpansiv in recent years. The company has bought APX, an energy and environmental registry-infrastructure provider; Evolution Markets, which provides market-execution services; and Evident, a UK operator of the I-REC(E) renewable-energy registry.
Xpansiv said the capital from Verdane will allow it to move more quickly on acquisitions of technologies that complement its own development efforts.

Xpansiv’s registries currently cover more than 320 gigawatts of renewable-generation capacity across more than 60 countries. Its network represents about 4% of global electricity generation and 7% of renewable generation. About 28% of renewable-energy certificates issued worldwide in 2025 were managed through its registries.
“Infrastructure of this kind takes years to build, and no one else has assembled it end to end.
