Unico launches 330 kW bidirectional inverter

Unico, a U.S. specialist in advanced power conversion technologies, launched its new 330 kW bidirectional Grid-Tie Inverter (GTI). The compact, scalable power conversion platform supports solar generation, energy storage or high-power loads, such as data centers.

The inverter was developed in 2025 when Unico signed an agreement to supply Eos Energy Enterprises with DC-to-DC converters, and thus launched a new product line of ultra compact power conversion products for energy storage solutions.

Unico reports that the GTI, its first inverter, operates at 98.5% efficiency and boasts a power density of 7 2W per cubic inch. The same platform can address a range of system configurations: AC voltages from 380 to 900 VAC are supported and it features a programmable DC voltage range from 600 to 1500 VDC.

The GTI supports parallel operation in groups of ten or more to deliver system power levels exceeding 3.3 MW, the company reports.

“With the explosion of data centers, increase in alternative power generation, and expansion of battery storage across industries, bidirectional capability at 1,500 VDC is increasingly required but remains underserved at the C&I scale by U.S.-manufactured products,” said Mike Canada, Unico CEO.

Unico was launched in 1967 in Wisconsin, originally focusing on testing, oil & gas applications and industrial automation systems. Today the company develops and manufactures power conversion products for data centers, microgrids, electrical systems, and energy storage in its 10 GW manufacturing facility in Franksville, Wisconsin

The Unico GTI is launching at The Battery Show 2026, which runs from October 12 to 15 in Detroit.
