sequestra Welcomes Robert Pachler As New Chief Commercial Officer

Vienna-based CO2 mineralization company sequestra has appointed Robert Pachler, the former Chief Executive Officer of a leading heavy-industry technology company, as its new Chief Commercial Officer.

With this appointment, the company is gearing up to transition from technology development to market entry.

This would open a new chapter for its industrial process technology that permanently binds CO2 in mineral residues, such as steel slags, ashes, cement kiln dust, and construction and demolition waste.

Holding a PhD in process engineering with a focus on carbon capture, Pachler is joining sequestra after serving as the CEO of an internationally leading supplier of technology for heavy industry. In his previous role, Pachler significantly expanded the company’s product portfolio and brought a meaningful increase in revenues.

Utilizing his technical and commercial expertise, at sequestra Pachler will be in charge of the full commercial path, from the initial material analysis through the business case to selling and implementing industrial carbonation plants at partner sites.

“Industrial customers invest in technology when it works reliably in their process and pays off economically. With rising CO2 prices in the emissions trading system and a growing market for carbon removals, mineralization is reaching exactly that point now,” Pachler said.

“sequestra has a technology designed for industrial scale and the data to prove it works. My task is to turn that into long-term industrial partnerships,” he stated.

For sequestra, this appointment is part of a leadership building strategy, and it comes a month after the company onboarded Matthias Ginterseder as its Chief Scientific Officer.
