Poland offers 76 TWh in November renewables auctions

Poland’s Energy Regulatory Office (URE) will run seven price-only auctions for new renewable energy installations from Nov. 2 to Nov. 10, with PV and onshore wind allocated most of the support on offer.

The auctions can award support for a little more than 76 TWh of renewable electricity worth almost PLN 25 billion, URE said on Sept. 22. Of that total, 64.5 TWh worth a little more than PLN 17.9 billion is reserved for PV and onshore wind.

The largest pot, 53.25 TWh, is set aside for PV and onshore wind projects larger than 1 MW, which will compete in the final auction, AZ/7/2026, on Nov. 10.

Bids will be assessed on price alone, and only new installations can take part, under a 2022 government regulation that sets maximum auction volumes and values for each year through 2027. Maximum bid prices are set by a November 2023 regulation from the Ministry of Climate and Environment.

In last year’s equivalent auction, AZ/7/2025, held July 9, 2025, URE received 98 bids and selected 76, at prices ranging from PLN 100.00/MWh to PLN 329.68/MWh, according to results the regulator published July 11, 2025. Of the 129 winning bids across the 2025 round, 126 were for PV projects and three for onshore wind, with PV allocations totaling 1.67 GW.

URE said auctions held since 2016 have contracted nearly 307 TWh of renewable electricity, worth close to PLN 77 billion.
