Help us produce all of the high-quality, original content we publish week after week despite the challenges of content-scraping AI, antisocial media, inflation, and other hurdles. Adam McKay is the fellow who brought us the satirical Don’t Look Up! movie five years ago. We did an article about it at the time, which got over 100 comments. That may be more than the number of people who paid to see it in theaters.

Undaunted, McKay is back with another — and much shorter — spoof. Created in conjunction with Yellow Dot Studios , it pretends to be an Exxon commercial and features the voice of Woody Harrelson. Yellow Dot was established by Adam McKay and styles itself as a “non-profit media studio harnessing the power of entertainment to challenge Big Oil disinformation and sound the alarm on the fossil fuel pollution crisis.”

And so, without further ado, here is the fake commercial inspired by this year’s “once in a millennium” super El Niño event, which is happening now all across the northern hemisphere. It was made possible in part by Exxon and its coterie of friends in the fossil fuel industry. Please feel welcome to share it with your friends, family, co-workers, and online peeps. Thank you!
