Energy transition consulting and auditing firm EcoEngineers has appointed Brad Pleima as Chief Executive Officer (CEO). Pleima, who has served as the company’s President since 2021, succeeds co-founder Shashi Menon following his retirement.
Menon co-founded the Des Moines-headquartered advisory firm in 2009, scaling its practice across low-carbon fuel policy, carbon offset markets, and emissions assurance. He also managed the firm’s acquisition by global risk management group LRQA in March 2025, which added nearly 100 sustainability experts to LRQA’s advisory network.
Pleima joined EcoEngineers in 2017 and brings over two years of experience in renewable energy engineering and executive planning. During his tenure, he has advised more than 300 clean energy facilities and supported project developments valued at over $5 billion across renewable natural gas (RNG), ethanol, biodiesel, renewable diesel, and hydrogen.
Under Pleima’s leadership, EcoEngineers will focus on integrating its core auditing and advisory capabilities with LRQA Climate’s global corporate client base.
The executive mandate includes expanding compliance verification and strategic consulting into emerging decarbonization markets, including maritime transport, livestock and industrial methane abatement, and forestry carbon projects.
