Former Polish Police Officer Arrested in Zondacrypto Exchange Case, Charged with Organized Crime and Other Offenses

PANews reported on September 23, citing Decrypt, that former Polish police officer Artur K. has been arrested in connection with the now-defunct cryptocurrency exchange Zondacrypto, and charged with participating in organized crime, aiding in the misappropriation of user funds, aiding computer fraud, and money laundering. During a search of his residence, law enforcement seized documents related to the exchange's operations.

Police also searched the fuel depot where Zondacrypto founder Sylwester Suszek was last seen before his disappearance in March 2022. Prosecutors have classified the case as unlawful deprivation of liberty, and another suspect has been charged with removing the hard drive of a gas station surveillance recorder.
