Anthropic introduces Personal Finance in Claude, enabling US users to analyze finances via connected accounts with read-only access and natural-language queries.
Anthropic has announced the launch of Personal Finance in Claude, a new feature designed to simplify financial management by enabling users to securely connect their bank and card accounts and ask natural-language questions about their finances. The feature, which began rolling out in beta on November 5, 2026, is available to Pro, Max, and Ultra plan subscribers in the United States.
Personal Finance in Claude allows users to link up to 16 financial accounts through Plaid, a service that facilitates secure connections between apps and banks. With read-only access, Claude can analyze balances, transactions, and spending patterns without the ability to move, manage, or invest money. Users can ask questions such as "Where did my money go this month?" or "Am I spending more than I make?" and receive detailed breakdowns by category, historical comparisons, and insights into upcoming payments.
For example, if a user asks, "What’s left before payday?" Claude calculates the remaining balance after accounting for upcoming transactions, such as bills or subscriptions. Users can also request visualizations, including weekly spending charts, calendars of due payments, or customized dashboards.
Anthropic emphasizes the security and privacy of the feature. Claude’s access is strictly read-only, and users must authenticate their accounts through Plaid without sharing bank passwords. Conversations within the Personal Finance hub are not used to train Anthropic’s models, and users can unlink accounts at any time to revoke access.
