Xiaomi has confirmed support for the Galaxy S26 Ultra’s Privacy Display on the upcoming Xiaomi 18 Pro, and it apparently does a lot more than Samsung’s implementation of the feature.

The Privacy Display on Galaxy S26 Ultra is a hardware feature that can help hide the contents of your display from onlookers by physically altering how the light of the display shines outward. It’s a very clever feature which, despite some trade-offs, has been very well-received.

In a teaser posted to Weibo, Xiaomi confirms that the Xiaomi 18 Pro will ship with a “smart privacy screen” that looks virtually identical to the Galaxy S26 Ultra’s Privacy Display. When activated, content is obfuscated at an angle, only allowing you as the person looking at the display straight-on to clearly see everything.

Similar to Samsung, Xiaomi looks to be allowing this to work in specific apps or on only certain parts of the display, like a notification, instead of being an all-or-nothing option.

Notably, though, Xiaomi also shows the feature working on a floating app window, in split screen, and even on specific notifications on the lockscreen. While Samsung is working on improvements, Xiaomi seems to be delivering quite a bit more versatility right out of the gate.

Xiaomi 18 Pro is officially set to debut on September 23 – just two days from now – with some key details already confirmed (via GSMArena) including battery sizes up to 8,500 mAh, another rear-facing display, and more.
