United Airlines is opening the largest airport lounge in the Americas. Here’s what’s inside

An enormous new airline lounge is poised to be a destination in and of itself.

United Airlines will open the space this week at Houston’s George Bush Intercontinental Airport, staking its claim to the largest airport lounge in North or South America. The lounge, which can be found in IAH’s revamped Terminal B, will feature seating for 800 people, including a 1,350-square-foot outdoor terrace offering panoramic views of planes coming and going.

To enjoy the luxe new space, fliers will need a United Club membership, eligible United rewards cards, or a premium cabin ticket that comes bundled with club access. Once inside, travelers can partake at two full-service bars, snack across two buffet stations, and hop into eleven private phone rooms to handle business on the go.

“Inspired by Houston’s distinctive spirit, the club’s design captures the feeling of traveling from the city to the sky, blending elements of the local cityscape and bayou landscape with nods to Houston’s legacy as a center of aerospace innovation and cultural diversity,” the company wrote in a press release.

The lounge is United’s latest addition at IAH following the 2025 opening of its United Fly Club in Terminal B. That quick-service lounge lets fliers scan in for grab-and-go snacks, beverages, and barista-crafted coffee when they don’t have the time to kill in the airline’s more relaxed lounge experiences. The new space, known as the Terminal B North club, brings United’s count of clubs and lounges in IAH up to seven.

The United lounge will highlight artwork by Texan artists, including some photography taken by a United employee based in San Antonio.
