If you're looking to buy a TV on Prime Day, these are the three I recommend.
Federal holidays and Prime Day are good for two things: barbecuing (mostly, maybe) and buying a great TV for cheap.
Picture quality is the No. 1 “feature” that TV buyers look for, while they also tend to spend under $1,200, CNET found in a reader survey. Thanks to Amazon’s Prime Big Deal Days on Tuesday and Wednesday this week, you’ll find a number of screens that fit these requirements.
These are the three TVs I have tested in the TV lab that offer great picture quality at never-seen-before prices.
Roku’s Pro Series TV line has gone from strength to strength over the past couple of years, and based on my initial testing, I can say that the 2026 version is the best yet. As an OLED TV, the newest Pro boasts a much better display than previous models with “infinite” contrast and an excellent anti-reflective coating. It’s also got the lowest input lag of any TV I’ve ever tested (more on that very soon). The only real drawback is that the onboard audio system isn’t as good as the 2025 model , but if you have an existing home theater , this isn’t an issue. At $300 off an already keen price, the Roku Pro OLED is one of the best deals here, even if I’d say it’s worth stretching to the Samsung S90H if you can afford it (for its brighter screen and better antireflectivity — see below).
