TCL Is Celebrating Prime Day Early With Deals on Tablets, Phones and More

You can grab TCL's paper-like Nxtpaper tablets and phones at some of their lowest prices ever, but you'll have to move fast because these deals end Oct. 4.

Save up to $130: Prime Day doesn’t officially start until Oct. 6, but you don’t have to wait for it to save on TCL’s gear. You can get up to $130 off its Nxtpaper tablets and phones right now at Amazon, and a couple of these are the lowest prices we’ve seen. On top of that, you’ll get a free stylus and flip case with every Nxtpaper tablet, so that’s additional value you’re getting out of the deal, especially if you’re not looking to spend money on big-ticket purchases like TVs and laptops.

If you haven’t heard about Nxtpaper before, it’s TCL’s matte display tech. It isn’t E Ink like you find in Kindle and other e-readers. Rather, TCL adds an anti-glare layer over a regular LCD screen so you get something that looks and feels more like paper. You can switch between a standard tablet mode and paper-like color and black-and-white reading modes, so you basically get an e-reader and a regular tablet in one device.

My favorite deal of the bunch is the Nxtpaper 11 Plus for $240 , down 35% from its usual $370. You could have gotten it for $220 back in August, so this isn’t its lowest price, but you’re still pretty close. 5-inch, 120Hz display, a pressure-sensitive stylus and an 8,000-mAh battery. You won’t get the fastest tablet out there, and you’ll find the 8-megapixel cameras rather basic, but you probably aren’t buying this one for photos.
