Startup news and updates: daily roundup (October 7, 2026)

From women’s ride safety to funding surges for Quanfluence, byteXL, and Sunfox, YourStory brings you today’s headlines with the latest developments across sectors.

The last time you got into an app-based cab, auto, or bike taxi, did you share the ride details with your friends or family? Did you keep looking at the route on your phone, just to make sure the vehicle was going where it was supposed to?

For most women, these have become almost automatic habits. We have been taught to be careful—to stay alert, share our location, avoid travelling alone at night, and always have a backup plan. A simple ride from one place to another comes with its own set of apprehensions: Is the driver okay? Why has the vehicle stopped? Why has the route changed? Should I call someone?

Deeptech company Quanfluence has raised $10 million in a funding round led by Chiratae Ventures, a technology-focused venture capital firm that invests in early-stage startups.

Pi Ventures, an early-stage fund focused on deep tech and AI, returned after leading Quanfluence’s 2024 seed round, while Rainmatter by Zerodha also participated.

Edtech company byteXL has raised $9 million in its latest funding round, led by Elevar Equity, an impact investor, with participation from existing investors Kalaari Capital, an early-stage VC, and The Michael & Susan Dell Foundation, a philanthropic foundation.

The new capital is intended to expand byteXL’s institutional network, strengthen its technology and AI capabilities, increase academic and delivery capacity and develop new industry-aligned programmes.

Dehradun-based medtech company Sunfox Technologies has raised $7 million (approx INR 67 crores) in a Series A funding round led by ace investor Ashish Kacholia, Lashit Sanghvi, Alchemy Capital and 3one4 Capital.
