From Deepinder Goyal defending wearable device Temple to xxx raising Rs 400 crore, YourStory brings you today’s headlines with the latest developments across sectors.
Satin Group launched Sankalp this September, a platform designed to nurture sustainability-focused ideas from students and early-stage entrepreneurs. In an exclusive interaction with YourStory, Pramod Marar, CEO of Satin FinServ Limited, discussed the thinking behind the initiative, the importance of non-financial support alongside funding, and the role financial institutions can play in scaling climate innovation.
Sankalp operates through two distinct tracks: student-led business ideas and early-stage startups. The student track encourages college students to develop technology-driven solutions to climate and environmental challenges. The startup track focuses on young businesses working in areas such as clean mobility, circular economy, waste management, and sustainable supply chains. Sankalp winners stand a chance to win Rs 32 lakh, with Rs 10 lakh for students and Rs 22 lakh for startups.
Deepinder Goyal took to X on Thursday to counter Indian doctors who criticised his brain-monitoring wearable Temple. Defending the science behind the device, he said, “First and foremost, a business lesson: if Temple were a scam, and any of what we said weren't true, people would know it in just a few days of using Temple.”
He also said the device features a 14-day no-question return policy. “If the product doesn't work, it fails out of the gate and the company dies before recovering a tenth of its R&D," he said.
In the post, Goyal also highlighted that $30 million was invested in building the device, of which he put in $20 million of his personal money.
