Samsung’s First Clip-Style Wireless Earbuds Are Coming to the U.S.

Samsung’s first-ever clip-style wireless earbuds are slated for a U.S. debut. According to Samsung, the Galaxy Buds On, which were launched in South Korea early this month, are now set for a U.S. release in “early November.” With that official launch period comes an official price of $229.

Because the Galaxy Buds On were already released in South Korea, we know generally what they bring to the table, but it bears repeating. Inside these clip-style earbuds is something called “TwinBoost” tech, which is being used to help beef up the bass—an area where open wireless earbuds typically struggle. According to Samsung, the Galaxy Buds On have two woofers, so I’m interested to see what impact that has on the low end.

There’s a pretty good battery life, which Samsung advertises as 9.5 hours—an amount that’s aided by the lack of noise cancellation. They follow a similar C-shaped design as other clip-on wireless earbuds, have tap controls for controlling playback, and have tech that’s meant to reduce audio leakage. There’s also support for Galaxy AI and Gemini Live, as well as head gestures for answering calls or dismissing alarms. They’re also IP54 rated, which means they should hold up well against sweat and light rain.

On paper, the Galaxy Buds On aren’t really very different from most other clip-on wireless earbuds. They have the same shape and a similar selling point, but in the end, it’s all about comfort and whether they’re loud and bassy enough to give you a proper audio experience.
