Coming out of the international break, both teams look to make up ground on undefeated Barcelona.
Real Madrid will look to stay in touch with La Liga leader Barcelona as it hosts midtable Villarreal on Saturday at the Bernabéu.
José Mourinho’s men headed into the lengthy international break off the back of a hugely disappointing 2-1 away defeat at the hands of local rival Atlético. Los Blancos have been given a boost ahead of today’s game, with key trio Kylian Mbappé, Ibrahima Konaté and Federico Valverde named in the squad despite being named doubtful with knocks earlier in the week.
After a horrible start to its campaign, Villarreal boss Iñigo Pérez will be looking to continue its momentum from before the international break, having put together back-to-back 3-1 wins over Málaga and Levante.
Real Madrid takes on Villarreal on Saturday, Oct. 10, at the Santiago Bernabéu Stadium, with kickoff set for 9 p.m. CEST local time. That makes it a 3 p.m. ET or 12 p.m. PT start in the US and Canada, an 8 p.m. BST kickoff in the UK and a 6 a.m. AEDT kickoff in Australia on Sunday morning.
ESPN once again has the rights to La Liga and is showing all 380 matches on its streaming service, including today’s game.
