After this year, I am dying for a sale on e-readers. The RAMaggedon is wreaking havoc on tech prices and that includes Kindles. In August, we saw huge price increases on Amazon's e-readers that raised prices on Kindles up to $50. So what does this mean for sale prices?
Prime Big Deal Days has arrived, and Amazon just dropped Kindle prices, but it's a real mixed bag. Only 2024 models are on sale — and only some of them. The coveted Kindle Paperwhite isn't on sale, but its more expensive counterpart, the Paperwhite Signature Edition, is. While sale prices haven't dipped back down to their all-time lows, these are the best deals to shop since their August price increase.
And yes, Amazon just dropped a new collection of Kindles, but none of the 2026 models are on sale, nor do we expect them to be. So if you don't mind buying the 2024 Kindle models, there are plenty of Kindle deals to shop.
During Black Friday 2025, the 2024 Kindles dropped to their lowest prices ever. That brought the Kindle to $79.99 and the Kindle Paperwhite to $124.99. But this was before Amazon raised prices on Kindles in August 2026.
The current Kindle Prime Day prices fall somewhere in between previous all-time lows and the device's current prices. However, two Kindles are notably not on sale. The 2024 Kindle Paperwhite is full price, notably the same price as the 2026 model . Plus, the 2024 Kindle Colorsoft Signature Edition is no longer available for purchase.
