Minecraft and Domino’s Team Up for Block-Shaped Pizza, In-Game Freebies

Customers are randomly awarded an in-game code for either a Domino's skin, cape or cheesy cube pet. The pizza will come in one of six Minecraft-themed boxes.

The computer game Minecraft offers plenty of in-game food, from steak and cake to, uh, rotten flesh. Now, a popular real-world food is being mixed with Minecraft.

Beginning on Monday, Domino’s Pizza will offer Minecraft-themed tie-ins, including in-game extras, when customers buy “the Domino,” a recently launched Detroit-style pizza for one. The pizza is cut into two pieces to resemble Minecraft blocks, in connection with the new game Minecraft Dungeons II, a spin-off of the 2020 game Minecraft Dungeons.

Minecraft Dungeons II came out Sept. 29 for PC, Xbox Series X and S, PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch and Switch 2.

As part of the Minecraft collab, the rectangular Detroit-style Domino pizza will come in one of six game-related boxes, each featuring a different Minecraft Dungeons II character: the classic Creeper, Corrupted Creeper, Zombie, Pig, Prime Enchanter and the main protagonist, Valorie.

When you buy the pizza online, you can unlock a code for one of three randomly awarded in-game items to use in Minecraft Dungeons II: a Domino’s skin, a Slice Slayer Cape, and a Cheesy Cube pet.

Between Monday and Nov. 4, customers have a chance to win a free download of the game (for PC and Xbox only), normally priced at $30. Domino’s says 20,000 downloads will be given away. To enter the lottery, after purchasing “the Domino,” submit your proof of purchase on its dedicated web page.
