A NAS is way easier and cheaper than you think, thanks to UGREEN NAS units and a great little Amazon sale.

For years, I went about my day juggling several different external hard drives to offload the obscene number of photos and videos I capture for my job. I thought NAS — that’s Network Attached Storage — were simply too complicated for home use until I used a UGREEN NAS. It completely changed my perspective on the tech, and I guarantee it’ll do the same for you.

UGREEN makes a bunch of different NAS units, all of which are impressively highly rated (only one of 20 on Amazon is rated less than 4.5/5 stars), and around half a dozen of those are between 10-15% off right now:

Don’t get confused by the names. The DH series is meant primarily for home use, while the DX series is meant for either home offices or small offices. The main difference is in storage capacity and capability.

The home-use DH series works as a great way to cut down on all those annoying cloud storage subscription costs and ensure that your data stays in your home instead of some data center. If you’ve got a sizable movie collection, you can also digitize it and turn it into a streaming media server. It’s super cool and a great addition to simply storing all those files that no longer fit on your computer.
