I’ve Tested Hundreds of Robot Vacuums, I Recommend These 3 for Prime Day

Robot vacuums are fantastic labor-saving tools, but they’re usually expensive -- fortunately, some of our best models are on sale this Prime Day.

If you’ve been on the fence about buying a robot vacuum because of the high price tag, Amazon’s October Prime Days are offering some of the biggest price cuts I’ve seen on both entry-level and top-tier flagship models. As CNET’s robot vacuum expert, I’ve been using robot vacuums since 2015, though not always with great success. The best and newest robot vacuums include advanced lidar navigation, AI-enhanced object recognition, the ability to cross thresholds and hot-water mopping. There’s even self-emptying and self-cleaning functions, making them nearly hands-free.

However, not all of the best robot vacuums are going on sale during Prime Day, so I’ve done the painstaking research to find you the ones that are getting the steepest price cuts while still keeping the features you need. All three robot vacuums I recommend below have been tested at CNET’s Louisville lab, earning scores high enough to warrant a spot on our top 10 or an honorable mention.

Here’s what you should keep an eye out for this Prime Day.

The Dreame X60 Max Ultra is currently $1,180 on Amazon, down from its usual $1,700 price, saving you over $500. 22% across flooring types. That may not sound high, but let me assure you that for robot vacuums, that’s a very good score. 94%. It also handled pet hair with ease and benefits from a retractable pressure plate that lowers to create a tighter seal against carpet for deeper suction.
