Google is holding off on a sleep breathing quality feature it promised for the Fitbit Air. It launched for the Pixel Watch last month.
Under the Your Health Guardian umbrella of features, Google recently announced several new features for its fitness trackers. That includes not only the Pixel Watch series, but the Fitbit Air and even the newly announced Fitbit Edge. That suite provides access to blood pressure trends, insulin resistance trends, and sleep breathing quality.
The Fitbit Air has been left without one of these features since Google announced them – sleep breathing quality. Google recently stated, once again, that the Fitbit Air would get the features soon in a statement to Android Authority, this time more pointedly aimed at the missing function.
Sleep Breathing Quality launched first on Pixel Watches and will come to Fitbit Air soon.
When Google first announced these features, they made sure to include that detail in the press release so as not to get Fitbit Air users’ hopes up. At the time, Google said sleep breathing quality and other features in the Your Health Guardian suite would be added to the screenless tracker “later this year.” It didn’t note that only two of the three features would be released for the Fitbit Air.
That being said, neither the comment nor the original press release lays out a detailed timeline for sleep breathing quality trends, specifically. For now, the Pixel Watch 3, Pixel Watch 4, and Pixel Watch 5 are able to set sleep quality, insulin trends, and blood pressure trends on their devices with the Health Guardian feature.
