Google Play adding ‘personal library’ to access your vibe-coded Android apps

Google today announced a slew of Play Store updates across vibe-coding, game discovery, social features, and more.

The biggest update is Google Play’s embrace of vibe-coded Android apps. Since May, Google AI Studio has allowed you to generate Android apps and quickly deploy them to your phone using ADB.

Google is now going a step further by letting you “launch personal apps on your own device” via the Play Store. A “Your personal library” section allows you to access apps across multiple devices for an easy restore and install experience. This is rolling out starting today in the US and other select markets.

The Play Store will soon let you privately share your apps with select users. These generated Android apps are kept “secure, private, and separate from the public store catalog.” It’s intended for small-scale sharing, with these apps going through a security review.

In the future, Google Play will let you “graduate to a professional developer account with the same Trust & Safety reviews and high-quality standards.”

Game Finder is the next big update and starts with your “Gamer DNA.” This is an “analysis of how you play and preferences you’ve shared.” You can specify “games, genres, mechanics, and more to finetune.” Gamer DNA will let you “easily find games that match your taste.” It’s rolling out initially in the US with more markets coming soon.

Plus, see how players with similar Gamer DNA are engaging with a title, find out how many people you follow are playing it, read user review summaries and learn which games are trending and why.
