Google CEO Sundar Pichai has announced the global launch of Gemini 4 Argon, the company's latest artificial intelligence (AI) model. The model is designed to handle complex tasks, including coding, financial analysis, legal work, cybersecurity and scientific research.
In a post on X, Pichai wrote, "Gemini 4 Argon is here."
He said the model was now available worldwide to developers and businesses through the paid tier of the Gemini API and the Gemini platform. Google AI Ultra subscribers can access it through Google Antigravity, while Ultra and Pro subscribers can use it in the Gemini app and Search.
According to Google, Gemini 4 Argon can handle tasks that require detailed analysis and several steps to complete. It can help developers write and improve code, businesses analyse data, legal teams review documents and scientists work on research problems.
Google said Argon ranked first on the Vals Index, which tests AI models on tasks across areas such as finance, coding, law and tax work. The company also said the model gives more direct answers, follows writing instructions better and avoids unnecessary repetition compared with previous Gemini models.
Google said its engineers have already used Argon to complete complex coding tasks faster. The company in a blogpost said that teams using the model in Google Antigravity increased AI-assisted code submissions by more than 35%, while code rollbacks fell by nearly a third.
In one project, Argon helped the Chrome team reorganise parts of the Chromium codebase, which contains around 40 million lines of code.
