Exclusive: Traya In Talks To Raise Around ₹300 Cr From Verlinvest

Mumbai-based customised haircare startup Traya is in talks to raise around ₹300 Cr (about $31 Mn) from Belgium-based investment firm Verlinvest, sources told Inc42.

The proposed round would value the startup at ₹2,500 Cr (about $262 Mn) to ₹3,000 Cr (about $315 Mn) and include both primary and secondary components, the sources said.

The round is not finalised yet and the funding amount can go up, the sources added.

Questions sent to Traya and Verlinvest remained unanswered till the time of publication.

The funding talks come amid what sources described as strong growth in recent months, with Traya currently clocking an annualised revenue rate of ₹900 Cr to ₹1,000 Cr.

The funding talks follow Traya’s ₹75 Cr investment from Xponentia Capital in April 2024. At the time, the startup claimed to have served more than 10 Lakh customers through its app, website, and ecommerce platforms Amazon and Flipkart.

Alongside its online business, Traya has been expanding its offline presence. It currently has more than 20 centres across Pune, Mumbai, Nagpur, and Hyderabad.

Founded in 2019 by Saloni Anand and Altaf Saiyed, Traya offers customised haircare solutions, using technology to identify customers’ specific hair loss triggers.

The startup says it combines hair assessment, recommendation algorithm, and doctor approval to develop personalised treatment plans.

Besides Xponentia Capital, Traya counts Kae Capital, Fireside Ventures, and Whiteboard Capital among its investors.

Traya is yet to file its FY26 financial statements with MCA. 4 Cr in FY25 from ₹236 Cr in FY24.
