Ema Raises $77 Mn To Scale Its Universal AI Employee Platform Globally

Agentic AI startup Ema has raised $77 Mn (over ₹738 Cr) in a Series B funding round led by Bengaluru-based VC firm Creaegis. Existing investors Accel, S32 and Prosus also participated in the round.

With the round, the startup has now raised about $140 Mn in funding till date. It claims to have quadrupled its valuation from its $50 Mn Series A round in 2025. It refrained from disclosing its latest valuation.

The San Francisco-based startup plans to deploy the fresh capital to scale its go-to-market strategy and expand into new geographies, including Asia Pacific (APAC) and Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA).

Ema cofounder and CEO Surojit Chatterjee said, “Enterprises do not need more software. They need outcomes. Our latest funding round will help us drive agentic business transformation at enterprises still stuck in the pilot purgatory.”

Founded in 2023 by former Coinbase CPO Chatterjee and former Okta executive Souvik Sen, Ema builds what it calls ‘universal AI employees’ — agentic AI systems designed to plan and execute enterprise workflow.

Based in San Francisco, Ema has offices in Bengaluru, London and Vancouver. The startup has nearly 200 employees and has primarily focused on enterprise customers in the US and Europe so far.

The SaaS startup currently focuses on automating functions like human resources (HR), information technology (IT) and finance, connecting with more than 250 business applications and systems of record. Its AI Employees can execute tasks across existing enterprise software, check their own work and route sensitive decisions to human employees for approval.
