Deepinder Goyal suggests Temple could one day help check who is fit to fly: What device does
Zomato founder Deepinder Goyal has suggested that Temple could have a future role in monitoring pilot fitness, although the wearable is not currently designed for aviation safety.
Questions around pilot fitness have gained attention following a recent Flydubai cockpit incident. Against this backdrop, Zomato founder Deepinder Goyal has suggested that his Temple wearable could potentially be used in the future to assess whether pilots are fit to fly. Goyal made the comments while responding to users on X after announcing that pre-orders for Temple , a head-worn health-tracking device, were opening in India. He did not directly refer to the Flydubai incident in his comments, but the timing has drawn attention to the possible aviation application of the technology. Deepinder Goyal wants Temple on the flight deck Goyal was replying to a suggestion that Temple could help restaurant managers and chefs by tracking stress levels and other physiological signals.
Instead, he suggested using the device with pilots to assess whether they are fit to fly. He also said the Indian Air Force could potentially use similar technology to identify pilots who are physically and physiologically best prepared for a particular mission on a given day. One interesting use case for @temple could be giving it to restaurant managers & head chefs. It would be fun to see the data on a dry day vs weekend vs weekday.
