Having an air purifier running in my home gives me peace of mind. Although I know they can’t catch every single pollutant, a reliable air purifier with a true HEPA filter can do an incredible job at improving your indoor air quality when used correctly, removing at least 99.97% of airborne particles measuring 0.3 microns, such as dust, mold, pollen and bacteria.

This year, CNET’s lab team put a slew of air purifiers through rigorous testing to find the best options. As I was combing through the testing data, it became clear that not all air purifiers are equally effective.

While some excel on low fan, others do much better at cleaning the air on high fan. Some shine at capturing fine particles, while others work best with those on the coarse end of the scale.

But regardless of finding a handful of great air purifiers, one brand stuck out to me the most: Coway. Two separate models from the company nabbed the top two spots on our best air purifier list and earned the number one spot on my personal holiday wishlist.
