Bengaluru to use data and AI to tackle climate risks at first Climate Data Week

Bengaluru will host its first Bangalore Climate Data Week from October 12 to 16, with more than 2,000 researchers, startups and investors using data and AI to address climate risks and build resilience.

Bengaluru will host the first edition of Bangalore Climate Data Week (BLR-CDW) from October 12 to 16, with organisers looking to expand the use of data and artificial intelligence (AI) in tackling climate risks. The city-wide event is expected to draw more than 2,000 attendees, including researchers, climate-tech founders, investors, policymakers, corporates and technologists. It will comprise more than 30 events hosted by partner organisations across the city, ranging from summits and workshops to startup pitches and a climate jobs fair.

The Climate Collective Foundation (CCF) is organising the week, with Google as Anchor Partner. The Karnataka Digital Economy Mission, the Karnataka Innovation and Technology Society and Startup Karnataka are State Innovation Partners. Google is also Anchor Partner for the flagship AI for Climate Tech Summit 2026 and will co-host the AI for Resilience Tech Summit 2026 with CCF. Discussions will cover climate-risk modelling and decision-support tools, clean technologies in buildings and data centres, the circular economy, resilience and clean mobility. Climate data gap Organisers said the week is meant to bridge a gap between India's climate and data communities. Nalin Agarwal, Co-Founder of CCF, said both communities are strong but often operate in silos.
