Apple’s new 14-inch MacBook Pro, powered by the M6 chip, brings upgrades in processing power, graphics and connectivity, targeting users who work with large files, edit videos, develop software or run demanding applications.
Apple claims the M6 delivers up to 30% faster graphics performance and up to 25% faster on-device artificial intelligence (AI) workloads than the previous-generation M5. For users upgrading from an M1 MacBook Pro, the company claims graphics performance can be up to 11 times faster and AI performance up to 13 times faster in certain workloads.
Battery life is another key focus. Apple claims the laptop can last up to 24 hours on a single charge, offering up to four additional hours for users upgrading from M1 models and up to 14 additional hours for those moving from Intel-based MacBook Pro models.
The laptop features a Liquid Retina XDR display, a 12-megapixel Center Stage camera, a six-speaker sound system, Wi-Fi 7 and Bluetooth 6. An optional nano-texture display finish is designed to reduce reflections and glare.
On the software front, macOS 27 brings Apple Intelligence features and a more conversational Siri, alongside tools for writing, photo editing and task automation. The M6 also supports running large language models locally, allowing certain AI workloads to be processed directly on the device.
The 14-inch MacBook Pro with the M6 chip starts at ₹2,39,900 in India, while education pricing starts at ₹2,27,900. Pre-orders open on October 28, with sales beginning November 6.
The laptop will be available in space black and silver, with 16GB of unified memory as standard and configurations offering up to 32GB.
