Apple has launched its new iPad mini in India, with prices starting at ₹82,900 for the Wi-Fi model and going up to ₹1,00,900 for the Wi-Fi + Cellular variant. The latest version of Apple's compact tablet brings an OLED display, a new A20 Pro chip and upgraded connectivity, marking a significant refresh for the iPad mini lineup.
The launch comes as Apple expands its tablet portfolio with upgrades focused on display quality, performance and artificial intelligence capabilities. However, the higher starting price puts the new iPad mini firmly in premium tablet territory.
The new iPad mini is available in three storage options — 128GB, 256GB and 512GB — and comes in midnight and starlight colour finishes.
In India, prices start at ₹82,900 for the Wi-Fi model and ₹1,00,900 for the Wi-Fi + Cellular variant. Eligible customers can purchase the tablet at an education price starting at ₹76,900.
The biggest change is the 8.5-inch Super Retina XDR OLED display, which replaces the LCD panel on the previous-generation model. The display promises deeper blacks, richer colours and improved contrast, while thinner bezels allow Apple to fit a larger screen into a similarly compact design.
The tablet is powered by Apple's A20 Pro chip, built on a 2-nanometre process. Apple claims improvements in CPU, graphics and AI performance over the previous generation, with the new processor designed to handle demanding applications and on-device AI tasks.
The iPad mini also gains an IP67 rating for water and dust resistance, Wi-Fi 7 support and Bluetooth 6 connectivity.
