Forum's new AI post tagging, shared calendars and compound moderation rules put real-time collaboration infrastructure into Facebook Groups admin. The catch: they surface exactly how much manual triage the platform was already expecting admins to do.
Meta has introduced new admin tools for Forum, its dedicated Facebook Groups app, aimed at reducing the manual workload of community management. Announced on 23 October 2026, the update gives admins AI-assisted post review, custom moderation rules, and a shared content calendar.
Forum is available in the US on iOS and Android, with users signing in through their Facebook accounts to access existing groups. Meta first introduced Forum earlier this year as a dedicated app for deeper engagement with Facebook Groups.
The tools are the first significant admin infrastructure Meta has shipped into the standalone app since launch. They are also a clear signal about what the company thinks running a Facebook Group actually requires: constant triage, rule enforcement, and team coordination. If you have been treating your brand's group as a place to drop announcements twice a week, these features will make that uncomfortably obvious.
Admin AI, already built into Forum, helps admins triage pending member requests and posts, highlights what is working and what needs attention, and surfaces which topics members are discussing.
The update adds two new capabilities: admins can now use it to draft posts for review and publishing, and it can check pending posts against group rules set by admins, tagging each one as likely compliant or potentially in violation.
