LinkedIn Pulse launched with data showing members listing AI literacy are 78% more likely to get hired, but only 4% of marketers have added the skill. The gap is now the barrier.

LinkedIn rebranded its Economic Graph research hub as LinkedIn Pulse on October 27, 2026, with new data that should make every social media marketer check their profile. Members who list AI literacy skills are 78% more likely to get hired and 11% more likely to receive a promotion than members who do not, yet only 1.2% of members list an AI skill.

For marketers, the gap is sharper. The share of marketing roles requiring AI literacy has more than doubled year-over-year, up 113%, but only 4% of marketers have added AI skills to their profile. That leaves 96% of marketing professionals without visible AI capability at the exact moment employers are doubling down on it as a filter.

LinkedIn Pulse brings together data and insights from across LinkedIn's 1.4 billion members, 71 million companies and 42,000 skills, positioning the platform as a real-time career navigation tool rather than retrospective labor market research. LinkedIn is also expanding its content and analysis by partnering with journalists, including Scalable founder Kaya Yurieff, to break down specific elements of economic opportunity, such as the impact of artificial intelligence on the workforce.
