Worlds 2026 is almost here, and 19 teams from six regions are chasing the Summoner’s Cup. The key question is not simply who can win: it is which teams can sustain title-level form and which are most dangerous when the bracket gets messy.
GosuGamers’ four-tier power map puts Gen.G, Hanwha Life Esports and T1 in the favorites group, with four contenders, six dark horses and six underdogs behind them. That separation matters: a team capable of springing one upset is not automatically built to survive an entire championship run.
Gen.G have the strongest season résumé in this assessment. They won the LCK Cup and Season championship, with disciplined macro, strong laning and control of match pace making them difficult to dislodge. But their Esports World Cup elimination by Dplus KIA is a useful reminder that even the leading favorite has a losing condition.
Hanwha Life bring a different kind of threat: they won MSI 2026 and finished second in the LCK, with the individual firepower and aggressive play to overwhelm opponents. T1, meanwhile, are defending champions chasing a fourth straight Worlds title. Their year has been less convincing, with losses at MSI and the LoL Esports World Cup and a third-place LCK finish, but writing them off based on domestic form alone would be tempting fate. Their LCK form and T1’s recent results give the uneven season more context.
The next tier has plenty of punch, but more questions about consistency. Bilibili Gaming won First Stand and reached the MSI final, yet coordination issues and uneven performances cloud their ceiling.
