Where to get Epona in Ocarina of Time

Epona is your trusty steed in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake. Hyrule Field is a large zone, and running across it can take a long time. So, speed up the process a bit by calling Epona to your side. However, you'll need to wait a bit before you can ride her.

[Ed. note: This guide contains spoilers for The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time remake, so continue at your own risk! Feel free to follow along or bookmark this page and come back if you get stuck.]

After you wake up Malon's Dad, Talon, outside of Hyrule Castle, you can first find Epona at Lon Lon Ranch beside Malon. However, Epona will run away if you get too close. If you talk to Malon, she'll tell you that Epona is a little shy around strangers, but she likes music. Take out your ocarina, and Malon will teach you Epona's Song (X - Y - A - X - Y - A). Play it, and Epona will come running over. However, as Epona is just a small horse and Link is but a child, you won't be able to ride Epona right away.

Once you have all the Spiritual Stones and can travel into the future, return to Lon Lon Ranch, which has been taken over by Ingo and is now named Ingo Ranch, during the daytime . You'll find Ingo by the field, and he'll make you pay 20 rupees to ride a horse.
