When exploring Hyrule Castle Town as child Link, you may come across a woman overjoyed by her little dog, Richard! While she may be protective of him, it seems she can't stop him from running away at night. To find Richard, you must first wait until it's nighttime. You can find Richard running around Hyrule Castle Town, and you will know it's Richard because he will spin when you interact with him. Richard is a white dog, so make sure you don't accidentally get the attention of a dog with a different coat!

There are multiple white dogs in the remake. The real Richard will do a spin, whereas the other dogs will just bark.

To make Richard follow you, simply run up to him and interact with him. This will cause the dog to follow you, and then you can take Richard to the woman who is located near the fountain in the town square.

By finding Richard, you will get a Piece of Heart. Unfortunately, Richard doesn't intend to stick around, as he will soon run off again. You won't get another Piece of Heart, but returning Richard on different nights will reward Blue Rupees for your wallet !
