When you're in the midst of the Clamp Release Procedure puzzle in Silent Hill Townfall's sixth and final part, you might notice that the "protection" buttons have familiar initials for each of the three protagonists, and that the instructions document allows you to "Set the light protection parameters as desired. Please use discretion." Since you can click any, none, or all, you might be wondering what this does, and we'll explain below!

When you're at the Clamp Release puzzle, you can look to the three buttons under "PROTECTION" to find a red button marked SO, a green button marked ZE, and a yellow button marked RS. These buttons represent the initials of each character in the game:

Despite the buttons representing the character initials, they don't actually do anything to determine the ending. We've tried each combination of the buttons:

We then completed the puzzle and went to the [SPOILER]final boss[/SPOILER] and noticed no change in either the encounter or the ending cutscene.
