These traits are largely based around universality and broad applicability in combat, as well as emphasizing those skills that are better in PvP than PvE (which tends to be tougher as a rule). I've also de-emphasized traits that increase reward yields and item stacking – not that there's anything wrong with those, but I think it's more important to survive missions than to risk your life on some small reward bonuses.
