Ubisoft shuts down RedLynx, lays off staff at Singapore studio

Ubisoft revealed today that it has proposed the closure of one of its acquired studios: RedLynx, the studio behind the Trials series. The studio’s closure will result in the loss of up to 52 jobs. It also confirmed that it’s laying off 70 people at Ubisoft Singapore, though it will keep the studio open as part of its restructured organization.

RedLynx’s last game was Trials Rising, which launched in 2019, and it became a support studio for other titles, such as Star Wars Outlaws, shortly afterwards. Several staff members were laid off in 2025, as the studio pivoted towards mobile game development and allegedly had at least two projects in development. At present, it’s not clear if those projects were outright canceled or have been moved to another studio.

The Singapore studio is best known for its work on Skull and Bones, which had a very difficult development process before it launched in 2024. According to a studio statement, these positions were eliminated to “align the studio with upcoming production needs.” Ubisoft told Gamesindustry.biz, “The studio remains an important part of Ubisoft’s global production organization.”

The company first announced a massive restructure last year, with the goal to reduce costs and streamline its production teams. It has since revealed that its studios would be organized under six Creative Houses , with each focused on a particular genre or brand. Both RedLynx and Ubisoft Singapore were originally part of the sixth Creative House, also called the Creative Network of studios supporting the other Creative Houses.
