'The Scarecrow' quest walkthrough in Valor Mortis

"The Scarecrow" quest in Valor Mortis will have you searching for two items belonging to a scarecrow in a farmer's field. The scarecrow, who's really a dead soldier tied to a cross, won't be able to thank you anymore, but the generous rewards make this side quest worth your while.

Here's where to find the two missing items, how to follow the crows, and how to complete "The Scarecrow" in Valor Mortis.

"The Scarecrow" is a Chapter 3 side quest in Valor Mortis. Shortly after defeating General Lothaire, and passing through the Abandoned Church, you'll start exploring the Fallen Village. Behind the Fields Lantern, take the path to the right, and you'll find the scarecrow on your right side.

Investigate the scarecrow to discover its missing necklace and torn pocket. Your job is to find the two lost items.

The first of the scarecrow's items is behind him, at the foot of the tree. Loot the soldier's body to obtain the Lover's Pendant.

The second item is harder to find. First, follow the main path through the Fallen Village until you've looped back to the Fields Lantern (shoot the glowing orb). See the creepy house on the hill? The second item is inside this house, but the door is locked.

Now, defeat the elite Risen Grenadier and follow the road behind him. When you enter the field with the haystacks, instead of turning right (the main road), go left to find the creepy house's back door .
