The Possibly Retired LEGO Super Mario World: Mario & Yoshi Drops to Its Lowest Price Ever for Prime Day

Nintendo fans have an opportunity to score one of the best LEGO x Nintendo collabs at an outstanding price, but you really don't want to hesitate. For Prime Day, Amazon is offering the LEGO Super Mario World: Mario & Yoshi 71438 for just $89.99 with free shipping after a 30% off instant discount. Not only is this the lowest price I've ever seen, this set is possibly retired; it's currently sold out at the LEGO Shop with no ETA for restock.

The Mario & Yoshi set is impressively sized at nearly 16" tall and 5" wide with a relatively hefty 1,215 brick count. This is a mostly 2-dimensional build that looks amazing as a display piece on a shelf. Fortunately, it's not without its charming interactive elements, like a crank handle that makes Yoshi run with Mario on his back, and a dial that makes Yoshi's tongue pop in and out. Despite its simple design, this is a fairly challenging build that involves small bricks and technical pieces like rubber bands, hinges, and ball joints. LEGO recommends it for builders ages 18 and up. The end result is more than worth it, though. We built this set ourselves and absolutely loved it.

All in all, LEGO Super Mario World: Mario & Yoshi gave me a strong dose of nostalgia as I pieced it together over several evenings. It's my favorite Nintendo LEGO set to date, and it looks so good on my desk that I’m going to leave it there for the foreseeable future.
