The Conjuring is coming to Netflix in the form of a video game, marking the franchise’s first foray into the medium after releasing ten films over the last decade.

Titled The Conjuring: Unspoken, the game is slated to launch on the streamer this October. As spotted by Polygon, this news was announced unceremoniously in the platform’s monthly New on Netflix newsletter, which had only a small blurb to share about what players can expect from this latest entry in Ed and Lorraine Warren’s ghostly adventures.

“What is haunting the Red Lion Inn? Scan for paranormal signals and investigate the eerie events troubling a grieving family in this cinematic game,” the blurb reads.

Thus far, anything else about the game is unknown; we aren’t sure if it’ll mimic Netflix’s most recent horror game, Unhinged, which was a first-person, interactive title featuring a celebrity cast including Zoë Kravitz and Sadie Sink, or if it’ll be something completely different.

We don’t even know if Ed or Lorraine will be in the game at all, though it would seem odd if they weren’t, as the blurb makes it seem like the pair is going off on one of their iconic paranormal investigations again.

What we do know is that, unlike other games under Netflix’s umbrella, it’ll be a cloud-based title, presumably not tied to mobile devices or any particular platform. It's also cinematic, meaning that it'll almost certainly contain grand cutscenes and a heavy narrative focus.

This marks The Conjuring’s very first fully-dedicated video game adaptation, and it’s coming right in time for spooky season.
