I reported on a missing shipment of RTX 5090s earlier this week, with two pallets worth of the highly-prized graphics cards presumably stolen from a Brazilian airport. Now new details of what looks to be a heist have emerged, and one of the GPUs has reportedly ended up on a second-hand marketplace.
GMC Online reports that Brazilian news channel Jornal da Band spotted the graphics card for sale on OLX, an online marketplace for used wares. The serial number of the card is said to match one of the missing units, with the price set at R$32,000, equivalent to around $6,400 (via Videocardz).
The broadcaster has revealed new information on the missing cards, said to be obtained from a Brazilian police report. According to the outlet, two outsourced forklift operators removed the pallets from an airport warehouse on September 21, while a third employee allegedly helped to move them through electronic security controls.
The shipment of GPUs belongs to Brazilian electronics distributer Oderço. The CEO of the Oderço Group, Oderço Matos, has previously spoken on the company's Instagram account about the missing GPUs, calling for more clarification from the authorities as to what exactly happened to the company's cargo.
GMC Online reports that Guarulhos International Airport has responded to the outlet, confirming that it had notified the authorities of the incident and is now in contact with the importer's representative.
Representatives from the airport say the investigation is now the responsibility of the appropriate authorities, and that it has provided guidance for initiating the compensation process.
