Steam Officially Makes 1 Open-World Game 100% Free Until October 26

While Steam's Free Weekend Promotion typically focuses on a handful of games, this weekend is a little different, as Steam users will only have 1 game to claim this weekend. Typically costing $9.99, the Steam Free Weekend game is an underrated gem known as DeadPoly.

For anyone new, Steam typically hosts two different free game promotions (aside from developers making their games free to play): the Free Weekend Promotion and the Free-to-Keep Promotion. The latter means games are permanently free as long as someone claims it by an expiration date, while the former means games are permanently free to play until an expiration date. In this case, Steam users have until October 26 at 10 am PT/1 pm ET to play DeadPoly at no cost.

Xbox makes six different games free to play until roughly October 25, including two Capcom Monster Hunter games.

Steam has made DeadPoly free to play until October 26 at 10 am PT/1 pm ET . For those unaware, DeadPoly is an open-world zombie survival-crafting game that combines third-person shooting, scavenging, crafting, and base building with a distinctive low-poly art style. Developed by TFL Games, the game challenges players to survive a zombie apocalypse by gathering resources, collecting weapons, fortifying shelters, and managing hunger and thirst. Players can explore alone or with friends through online co-op, while additional features include farming, fishing, hunting, customizable firearms, and drivable vehicles. The link below will take players directly to Steam; they do not have to "buy" this game.
