Should You Kill Graves in Modern Warfare 4?

This article contains spoilers. We've hidden them by default, but you can show them all below or reveal individual spoilers as you read.

Phillip Graves is back for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, and his feud with Task Force 141 comes to a potential end when he meets John Price during Mission #4: Hired Gun. When confronted, you, the player, are presented with a choice to shoot Graves or not. However, your decision here might not be as important as you think for the overall story. Here's what happens with either choice, and the obvious one you should make.

Modern Warfare 4's campaign features brutal killings and the deaths of several iconic characters from across the series. Here's who doesn't survive.

When confronted with Graves, you can execute him by pressing R2/RT to pull the trigger of your pistol. However, if you decide to wait, then Graves will grab the gun and kill Price, shooting him in the head and instantly ending his life (and thus the campaign). The game doesn't roll to credits, as it will restart you at the checkpoint before this decision.

However, if you're on YOLO difficulty, maybe don't try and see what happens if you don't kill Graves, as this will restart you to the beginning of the campaign.

As soon as you're prompted to, you should kill Graves. Failing to kill Graves is an instant mission fail, as he will kill you instead, so just pull the trigger and put an end to this character.
