GTA 6 is taking a different approach to its story, with Rockstar Games exploring what happens when its protagonists want more out of life than money, power, and a successful criminal career. Rockstar is looking beyond those familiar goals with GTA 6 protagonists Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos, whose relationship and personal ambitions are central to the story. The two are still professional criminals, but there's more to their motivations than simply making as much money as possible.
Of course, GTA 6 isn't abandoning the crime-focused gameplay that has defined the franchise for decades. Vice City and the wider state of Leonida will be filled with opportunities to make money, commit robberies, and get into trouble with the law. However, Jason and Lucia aren't necessarily interested in spending the rest of their lives as criminals. They're looking for a better future, and part of that involves figuring out what they actually want from each other.
GTA 6's file size, in comparison to RDR2 and GTA 5, hides a few important details about the upcoming open-world crime game.
Speaking with Edge Magazine , Rockstar North co-studio head Rob Nelson explained that GTA 6 isn't simply about living out a criminal power fantasy. Instead, Rockstar wants players to consider what Jason and Lucia actually want from life, with their relationship choices in GTA 6 playing a major role in the experience. The couple begins the story hoping to give things another chance, but there's no guarantee that everything will work out.
