Resident Evil Requiem Writer Lets Slip About Spencer's Role In DLC

Resident Evil Requiem was both critically acclaimed and adored by fans, and the journey isn’t over. There will be DLC - that much we know for sure. Now we seemingly know a little more about it, as one of the writers behind the latest Resi game and its DLC accidentally revealed Spencer will be central to its story.

During an interview at a convention shared by Distance NERDing, Requiem writer Haris Orkin spoke a little too freely about plans for the game’s expansion. “We have an arc for Spencer in Requiem. They kind of… you understand that more and in the DLC for Requiem, you will understand it even further,” Orkin revealed, laughing as he then added, “I probably shouldn’t say that.”

No, probably not, but it’s out there now, and Resident Evil fans have already picked up the ball Orkin dropped and run with it. Particularly those who have been trying to figure out a way that the Spencer Mansion might return to the series following rumors that surfaced almost immediately after Requiem released.

Reliable Resi leaker Dusk Golem shared that the Spencer Mansion, as it appears in the original Resident Evil, was recreated to be included in Requiem. The mansion, for whatever reason, didn’t make it into the final version of the game. Dusk Golem questioned whether it might be included in DLC, which hadn’t been announced at the time, signing off the post by admitting they did not know whether that was the plan.

It sparked hope for Spencer-themed DLC nonetheless, and now it seems more likely than ever that that’s exactly what we’re going to get.
